Chocolate Chip Pretzel Cookie Bars



Indulge in these delightful chocolate chip cookie bars with a salty pretzel crust. The perfect blend of sweet and savory in every bite!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups pretzels, crushed
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan

Crush the pretzels and mix them with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar in a bowl

To make the pretzel crust, press this mixture into the bottom of the baking pan that has been prepared

The pretzel crust should be baked in a hot oven for 10 minutes

Take it out of the oven and let it cool down a bit

Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a different bowl

When the butter is soft, add the brown sugar and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar to a different, larger bowl

Beat the mixture until it is creamy and smooth

Mix the egg and vanilla extract into the butter and sugar until everything is well mixed together

Slowly add the dry flour mixture to the wet mixture and mix just until everything is combined

Add one cup of chocolate chips and mix them in

To make the cookie dough even, spread it out over the pretzel crust in the baking pan

If you stick a toothpick into the middle and it comes out with a few moist crumbs, the bread is done

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes

After taking the cookie bars out of the oven, let them cool all the way down on a wire rack in the pan

Melt the last few chocolate chips and drizzle them over the cookie bars once they are cool

You can add chopped nuts to the melted chocolate drizzle if you want to

Before cutting the bars into squares, let the chocolate drizzle set
